Yoga Videos–Do you know of any good ones?
Question:
I’m trying to get started with yoga, and am looking for good videos to use at home. Can anyone reccomend any? I am also looking for some videos, or perhaps books, for teaching yoga to children. I’d be grateful for any help. Thank you . Michael Gray http://teletron.com/emergence.html
Response:
The Yoga Journal series, with Patricia Walden and Rodney Yee are very good to get started with. If you are a beginner, try Yoga for Beginners, which introduces basic poses. After that, try Yoga for Strength and Yoga for Flexibility. If you use these tapes to guide you through practice for awhile and decide you want to continue, you really need to find a good teacher. Tapes and books are fine to get started with, to decide if you want to continue Yoga practice, but a teacher will help you begin true practice without developing bad habits. There are a lot of subtleties in Yoga poses that you just won’t get with tapes or books. Good luck.

You also might consider the "Lilias! Alive with Yoga" Beginner & Intermediate; available from Rudra Press.
