Looking For Video Tapes
Question:
I’m looking for recommendations for advanced yoga videos. I learned Ashtanga yoga from Richard Freeman’s Yoga tape which describes the first series. I came across the following advertised in the December issue of Yoga Journal and wonder if anyone can comment on them: 1. Power Yoga (the Power Within) with Mark Blanchard 2. David Swenson’s series on Ashtanga Yoga. These look pretty tasty to me. 3. Advanced Level 1 yoga at home with yogi hari I also have Ashtanga yoga series 1 and 2 with K. Pattabhi Jois by Yoga Works. Not the best produced tape, the camera work could be better, but interesting to see "experts" doing the series and noticing the differences among them in the postures. I guess in my mind I have this "ideal" pose, so it was informative to me to see variations even among experts. thanks, greg strockbine
Response:
I recommend to you allso the Kundalini Yoga Videos by the Alaskan Yogi Nirvair Singh Khalsa Here’s the link to his homepage: http://www.alaska.net/~nsk/ God bless – Hari Har S.
I’ve been using the Kundalini Yoga Videos by Ravi Singh, and have enjoyed working with them — has anyone tried _both_ the Ravi Singh and the Nirvair Singh Khalsa videos? Which did you prefer? Any significant difference between the two? (reply by email) Thanks, Edie

I think that you can not go wrong with the David Swensen tapes. They are really great. He is a top practictioner in the league with Richard Freeman for sure. He also now has a short forms video that is very good and all his tapes are also now offered on cassette. If you ever get a chance to attend one of his workshops do it!!!!! Elladan
