Question:

Take care of yourself Julie.  It sounds as if you have this final under control.  Enjoy your trip….you deserve some time off after all these finals. Beverly – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – hey everyone, i haven’t been feeling tip top lately and figured out yesterday that this is not the hay fever (or if it is, it’s hidden) i’ve got some sort of a cold. lots of sleep intermingled with studying is the story of my life right now. two nights of nyquil and i’m starting to feel better. i’m on my third liter of water for the day and i’m starting to feel better….what way to flush this bug out than by drowning it right? i’ve got "the biggie" exam tonight…the one that is 40% of my final grade and i feel rather confident that as long as i pay attention to what is given to me on the exam i’ll do just fine.  i analyzed the other two, and we were given every single equation/formula we needed in one fashion or another so as long as i stay calm, i’m golden.  i also figured out that even if i bomb this exam i’ll still pass the class, so that’s a good thing considering i graduate in december and this is a spring only class.  besides, we can graduate with a d- as long as it isn’t a core class…this class is a requirement (from school certification) but is not a core class.  i think going through this cold/allergie/whatever it is from start to finish of finals kept me, for the most part, calm.  one final after this, and it’s the take home variety which means i will have over 24 hrs to finish it with all the nap time i need.  and i’ll be able to reference my notes and take my time to avoid stupid math errors…queen of the imaginary minus sign speaking. in a way, i feel like my cat.  i keep taking naps all day long, yet i wake up feeling better after each one.  i am letting my body do what it has to do to heal itself, which is a good thing considering my trip is on the horizon :-) .  i’ll have 24hrs to pack and get all the sleep i can imagine in before i have to leave and i’m not worried so life is good. Julie

hehe, should…yes that is a word in my vocabulary…i’m anging for a 50 or so on that exam, no biggie…read average.  it was tough.  there were lots of things that i managed to forget already, and ofcourse that’s just what the prof stressed…ah well. i don’t care, i feel even better than i did this morning.  glad this one is out of the way. one more…and it’s the take home…i love take homes. i can definitely see the difference in the lack of water that i’ve had these past few days.  it’s a good thing i’ll be home all day as i think i’ll be going for a bit of a "swim" (i’m thinking a good 2 gallons or so and i should be rehydrated-i hope) thanks for the good thoughts and wishes….the monster is over. Julie

Thanks Beverly, I fully intend on enjoying myself to the point of probably exhaustion–hehe like i need that right now right? we’re leaving for long island after my friend’s final on friday around 3pm and we should be there guesstimate 10-11…depending on traffic etc.  we plan on hitting the metropolitan museum of art, a club called polyester(s), people watching in times square and taking some yoga classes as my favorite yoga videos are done by instructors at the studios in ny.  the great part is that the studio is only 1.5 miles from where we will be staying, so we’ll have a nice walk to the studio, do the yoga and come back–that a definite exercise bonus if you ask me.  the best part is that the friend i’m going with loves the city as much as i do so no one will nag me about why we’re standing in the middle of times square just staring at the buildings for over 20 minutes. (that happened last time i was in ny-long story).  i’m also going to be trying sushi for the first time.  i called up a friend who lives there and his girlfriend is a huge sushi fan, along with the friend i’m going with and her fiance…new experiences :-) i can’t wait. oh geez, this turned into yet another ramble Julie
