Yoga or Chiropractor?
Question:
Definately yoga for the neck will help. Be aware of how you hold your head through the day. Relax the neck and let the head float above the shoulders. Remember your diaphragmatic breathing.
Response:
Yes. Neck problems are often easy to solve since there are few muscles and it soesn;t take long to strengthen them. Before yoga, I had no life. Chronic pain from a 20 foot fall that resulted in surgery, paralysis and other horrors. Some of the physical therapy helped a BIT. What helped tremendously was a video I began with entitled Jane Fonda’s Start-up, now progressing to more conventional yoga. However, back to the neck. A GOOD physical therapist can start you off..and yoga stretches will enhance what you learn there. M PS I used to go to the osteopath or chiropractor twice a week, up until about 7 years ago. I still have pain, but I feel as though I am in control, moreso than before. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -I was wondering if yoga will help a person with neck problems. I went to a chiropractor and he said my neck has lost some of the normal curvature and I need to be adjusted and then strengthened to restore the normal curve. Can this type of skeletal problem be solved with Yoga? It seems to me that if you exercise the muscles properly, spine alignment will take place naturally. Thanks.
