Moving Into Stillness

Question:

Hello andregide, Thanks for the saying by Namaste’.     Sierra of TN — "The trick is to keep an open mind and not let your brains fall out."

Response:

It’s getting late now, I will post my apology tomorrow. I want to thank every person who responded to my postings. I will send (pleasant) personal e-mails to individuals who responded over the next few days. I stand corrected, andregide

I am very impressed with this. However, I don’t feel that you need to apologize since you were stating your perception of things.

Response:

Hello andregide, I just started back to going to yoga class. My instructor is not a swami or even a Yoga Master, she is a 62 year old Jewish mother. If any of you are of Jewish descent like I am, no explanation needed.

My T is a 62 year old Jewish mother… She ends the class with this : I honor the place in you in which the entire universe dwells. I honor the place in you which is of love, of truth, of light, She ends the class with this : I honor the place in you in which the entire universe dwells. I honor the place in you which is of love, of truth, of light, and of peace. When you are in that place in you,and I am in that place in me, We are one Namaste’

Can’t help wondering if something of this was what you hoped for here, and were very disappointed when this did not seem to be available, warm fuzzies being a very poor second best to "We are one"… It’s getting late now, I will post my apology tomorrow. I want to thank every person who responded to my postings. I will send (pleasant) personal e-mails to individuals who responded over the next few days.

I am glad to hear that you feel like sending pleasant e-mails to ppl.  I found that your original post sounded like an airing of the sour grapes you felt about feeling an outsider to the group.  Your lonliness was palpable to me, ambivalence, too (persisting in asking the questions about matters troubling you).  I worried that the gentle mocking of your name would be construed as not taking you at all seriously rather than the defensive humour we all use when criticized (perhaps I was projecting here, as I was the subject of big-time mocking and still do it to myself).  After all, the 19thC Andre Gide was a very lonely and depressed guy, and hardly the cultural icon and subject of humour of J-P and the Kafka gang…now Camus might worry me .too…But then I’m a middle aged nerd, so what do I know!  And I apologise for not responding to you earlier, too dang depressed an dissociated! Guy (of Sarah and Friends) mostly with head in sand these days I stand corrected, andregide

i have always wanted to learn yoga.  i have an aunt who does some yoga.  she seems very calm. She ends the class with this : I honor the place in you in which the entire universe dwells. I honor the place in you which is of love, of truth, of light, and of peace. When you are in that place in you,and I am in that place in me, We are one Namaste’

that is beautiful.  thank you for sharing this. It’s getting late now, I will post my apology tomorrow. I want to thank every person who responded to my postings. I will send (pleasant) personal e-mails to individuals who responded over the next few days.

oh, i don’t think an apology is needed, unless it would be of the kind that makes you feel better about things.  you didn’t come in with all barrels blazing, like some folks.  you spoke what you saw, and you listened when people tried to help you open your eyes. I stand corrected,

quite gracefully, i might add. andregide
