YOGA POSES schrieb: The part that so many people are not moving towards is the spiritual accept which in my opinion is one of greatest and rewarding parts of yoga.
Indeed Robert! Very good posting – it can’t be said often enough, this should be the basic. Every beginner should be thaught this in the first lessons of a class. Here is a quote by my Yoga Master I’d like to share with you: "Those who send good vibrations out will recieve them 10times over from the universe. You gain when you give. There is no need to pray for yourself – pray for others and the Creator will pray for you." – Yogi Bhajan Sat Nam – Hari Har Singh http://3ho.home.pages.de/

My name ir Robert, and I practice yoga at the Iyenger institute in NYC. While I having nothing but praise for the school, I do see things there and at other yoga schools that I want to make others aware of. Yoga consists of so much more then just "doing the poses" that I don’t think people are aware of the other parts that are listed in the sutras. As yoga has become more mainstreem I see more and more people obsessied about trying to get all the poses perfect and learning them all as soon as possible and some getting angry if they fell they have fallen short of that perfect pose. Don’t fall into that. Yoga is a life long journey that is about progress and not perfection and making us a more aware and better person on an unconscience and conscience level. The part that so many people are not moving towards is the spiritual accept which in my opinion is one of greatest and rewarding parts of yoga. So please, remember yoga is not a sporting event. Yoga is a way to improve our body, mind, and spirit and not doing poses better than the next guy or girl next to you in the class. Robert.
