Want Yoga…will travel!!!
Question:
I’ve recently decided to get into Yoga and I have to figure out some things first. I don’t know anything about it other than you have to meditate. I’ve taken TM a few years ago and I want to know if meditating is all there is to yoga. Also what other tidbits should I know before I decide to enroll in a class. Instructors, ideas, every day joe’s welcome to help me.
Response:
I would recommend reading the book "Autobiography of a Yogi" by Paramahansa Yogananda. It’s the best description of Yoga that I’ve found. Jack
Response:
I also recommend Autobiography of a Yogi. Also, there are many types of yoga. Esoteric Taoist Yoga books by Mantak Chia are very good.. It’s about working with the energy of your body. –Gary —

: I’ve taken TM a few years ago and I want to know if : meditating is all there is to yoga. Well, meditation is a broad term, so it covers a lot, but also yes – there is a lot more in yoga, all kinds of practices and guidelines that make life fast and dangerous and smooth and blissful. One place to look for instruction is an organization called Ananda Marga and we have our web pages at http://jp.enable.vt.edu/meditate/index.html From there you can find more info or contact the nearest global office of Ananda Marga for personal instruction in meditation (the email opportunities in North America you can also call (800) 896-2387 — sfnet.keskustelu.vegetaristit – areena on avoin The Vegetarian Pages – http://www.veg.org/veg/ — sfnet.keskustelu.vegetaristit – areena on avoin The Vegetarian Pages – http://www.veg.org/veg/
