Indeed, the matter is understood Peace to all

Dear p. blauw, you are one of the Most Sweetest and Wonderful People on the Planet Earth! Yes, I, DSW, the most Wonderful and Fun Loving Guru on Planet Earth was Absolutely Surprised when you made the following three statments: (1) "Eventually this leads to meditation and beyond. (2) "That is where everything becomes still." (3) "Even Breathing comes to a complete stop!" #1 There is no beyond. This "Beyond" concept is a product of the Mind’s Navigational System in This Frequency Of Life. There is only "What Is" and Not One Whatever Kind Of Being on this Planet Earth can get beyond "What Is". #2 There is never a Moment in Your Life when Everything Becomes Still otherwise we would have to go to Nirvana and tell Guatama Buddha he’s a Liar. As you well know, Buddha said that the main cause of Suffering is caused from Clinging to the Futile Idea of Permanence and that’s what you have Here, the Idea that somehow Your Mind can somehow Be Silent. Who told you Your Mind could be Silent other than Your Mind p. blauw? I believe we both know This Is Absolutely True. (3) Have you ever heard of Elmer Green of the Menninger Foundation of Topeka, Kansas? He did a study of Swami Rama years ago and even went to India to study this notion that breathng can come to a complete stop. Ole Elmer found that alot of Wanna Be Yogis had this False Notion and because of that he scurried on back to the USA because he didn’t want to Tell Them The Truth Like Me…DSW So as you can Now See, p.blauw, Your World is getting Better and Better and Absolutely Amazing this Very Minute and you can Absolutely Believe This unless of course you don’t want to Absolutely Believe This…DSW

Dear p. blauw, I appreciate you informing Me, DSW, that you are Now Liberated and because of that, I will donate Your Absolute Freedom Medal to The Moksha Fund to someone other than Your Self that is in Need…DSW

All I Believe Is: "Don’t Believe Anything Anybody Tells You, Especially Not This Person!"
So, Dear Sweet FLG, It Is Only My Experience. That Is What I Believe In. No one Else’s! (And I Am Sure That When You Meditate, In Time You Too Will Go ‘Beyond’. Read Patanjali Btw, What He Writes About It
#2 There is never a Moment in Your Life when Everything Becomes Still otherwise we would have to go to Nirvana and tell Guatama Buddha he’s a Liar. If You Say So, Who Am I To Tell Something Else? All I Believe Is: "Don’t Believe Anything Anybody Tells You, Especially Not This Person!"
And Shall I Tell You Something? I Did Just What You Suggested When Everything Became Still. If You Say So, Who Am I To Tell Something Else? But When My Mind Was Silent There Was No More Mind… Hey How Is That!? Quite New Isn’t It? So Nothing To Tell About Nothing No More, That Is Silence But As Long As You Believe Something Like Absolutisms Do Exist You Will Not Experience This. (3) Have you ever heard of Elmer Green of the Menninger Foundation of Topeka, Kansas? No, I Have Not. He did a study of Swami Rama years ago and even went to India to study this notion that breathng can come to a complete stop. WoW! I did study the Ancient Scriptures and Practices, for about 33 years, and I also was in to India. Many times even…
There is nothing special in that. Ole Elmer found that alot of Wanna Be Yogis had this False Notion and because of that he scurried on back to the USA because he didn’t want to Tell Them The Truth Like Me…DSW Explain This To Me Please? Wannabe Yogis Had What False Notion? And Why Did Elmer Not Continue Invertigating, Or Even Better, Test It For Himself If It Perhaps Is True? Why Did He Scurry Back To The USA? Trust Only Your Own Experience. Practice, Meditate, And Who Knows??? Words Only Will Not Bring You There You Know My Fun Lovable Friend. So as you can Now See, p.blauw, Your World is getting Better and Better and Absolutely Amazing this Very Minute and you can Absolutely Believe This unless of course you don’t want to Absolutely Believe This…DSW No I Don’t See My World? (?) What Do You Mean? I Do Control ‘My Own World’ Yes, And It Already Is Better And Better. No Need To Believe In Anything But My SELF.
This Is Fun. REAL Fun. This Will Make One Free. I Mean, When Breathing, Heartbeat And Even Brain Comes To An Absolute Stop, There IS Absolute Freedom – Moksha. And Since You Must Be Curious After This I Am Sure One Day We Will Meet In Moksha That Is If You Can Let Absolutisms Go. This Is The Absolute Truth!
Namaste FLG my Friend!

Dear Hari Har, when I, DSW, was a kid, I asked my Father what he thought about Pinball Machines that you could play to Win Money! My Father told me, "Son, if they can sit with their back up against The Wall and Take On The World then they must be pretty good." Now, Hari Har, you can Unplug The Machine or You can Play The Game and you have Every Right not to Play The Game if you don’ t want to Be A Prize Winner. Here, Hari Har, I’m going to give you the name of a book you can Go Read, Thought Is Your Enemy, by U. G. Krishnamurti, a guy that I Totally Absolutely Disagree With. When you finish reading This Book, Hari Har, then and only then can You come over and Burn My House Down…DSW

Dear hari har, I just love the way you talk about me in this latest reply. You really sound like such a spiritual person filled with Love For DSW!
I’m just reflecting you
When your road comes to an end and you’re lying there on Your Death Bed and all the Icing has been taken away from Your Cake and You’re Gasping For Air I want you to do me, little ole Lovable DSW a favor and of course you will remember this when this happens—
There is no "of course" in life – of course … I want you to do some of those sophisticated stretching exercises called Yoga Asanas for little ole Lovable DSW when You’re Gasping For That Last Breath Of Fresh Air and then tell me why you don’t believe Now, Breathwork Comes First!—DSW
Little ole Lovable DSW — is this a title? — you don’t have to tell me something about breathing.
I made the experience that breathing is much more than just taking air in and out. The whole body is affected while you breath. I don’t know what kind of Yoga you practice (?) but the Yoga I practice does link every Asana with the breath. So, every Asana is also an breathing "exercise" and a meditation. Stretching is very good for all parts that are affected during the breathing process. But in Kundalini Yoga you do not only do stretching…. If you like to know more about this powerful Yoga than find yourself a Kundalini Yoga teacher close to your place at: http://www.kundaliniyoga.com/ Enjoy! Sat Nam – Hari Har Singh

Dear Hari Har, you seem to know alot about Yoga. I would appreciate it if you would answer this question for me with all seriousness about it if You Know What I Mean! Let me ask You this… Did Yoga come first or did Yoga Asanas come first and don’t tell me this is The Chicken and The EGG question. I’m absolutely sure you know The Answer to this question. I’m absolutely certain that you Know The Answer and because of this I’m willing to Bet all of my Karma on it! By the way, Hari Har, you sound like you are wondering whether a wonderful fun loving Guru…Like Me…practices Yoga or not? Here’s the Truth, Hari Har, I don’t practice Yoga because I am not a Yogi or a Wanna Be Yogi. I’m DSW, the most Fun Loving Guru on Planet Earth and Now…just because you are getting to communicate with me Like This…You are Now beginning to Follow the Path Of The Heart Like Me… Har Har for Hari Har…DSW

What does DSW mean, and does anybody else find myya to be a bit of an egoist??
Indeed Justin – I observed myself and realized that I was caught up again in an fruitless "discussion" – instead of sharing the present I enjoy on this NG. It seems to be very easy to be picked (Do I say it the right way? My english is not allways good ..) by these strange ppl like myya, Mr. Martin, etc. – but, what I observe too, is that the more energy you put into the "discussion" with them (it’s not really an discussion because they mostly only like to listen to their own words and want to convince you that they are right and that they own "the truth" – of course nobody can own "the truth" … ) the bigger the thread becomes, the less time and energy are left to care about the really important stuff. Beeing in the present, enjoy it, share it with others and offer inspiration and help to others who have honest questions about Yoga, Meditation and Spirituality. I think these ppl really should be mostly ignored in the NG. To me its not good to waste my time and energy on fruitless "discussions". It has shown that they vanished after a certain time of beeing ignored. But when you put energy into the discussion with just 1 of them – 5 more seem to blurp up into the NG! Really a strange effect … Sat Nam – Hari Har Singh

Yoga asana’s are only one step on the road. Eventually this leads to meditation and beyond. That is where everything becomes still. Even Breathing comes to a complete stop! Surprised? Try it! A person meditation properly is "braindead", because all activity has come to an end… Breathing in itself has not much to do with any Yoga practice. Shanti – P. Neelam.

Hello and welcome to both the online world and yoga. Anyway, you will want to check out www.yoga.com or www.yogafinder.com Both sites have a list of yoga teachers and centers. If no luck there, try the yellow pages…believe it or not I looked there after I moved and found a center 3 blocks away!! I can be seen walking the streets of Montclair, NJ with my yoga mat on my way to Anyway, you could also try some videos to get you started. You will probably want to have a good instructional video as well anyway so that you have a guided practice session at home (so you are not just limited to yoga during your class time). Good luck Charles – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -I am new to both the net and to yoga and thought I could try to use one to help the other if you know what I mean. I am looking for a yoga class/teacher in south Manchester and wondered if anyone out there new of anyone running such a class. My next problem is that I don`t know which type would be best and wondered if anyone could advise me – my ultimate aim is to be more flexible, destressed and to become more balanced and really to learn a lot more about what it is all about. I have read the newsgroup messages over the last month or so and have finally plucked up the bottle to ask - so if anyone out there can help I would really appreciate hearing from you. Paula

I took my first lessons 20 years ago at the local YWCA. I felt this was an excellent start. DSS (Health Channel) has a daily show at 7:30AM on Yoga which I record and follow sometime during the day. Diane

Hi there Paula, Welcome to this "open air yoga discussion forum" with technology at our fingertips in this" user friendly " day and age!! On finding a class, you’d be suprised how many local community & sports centres hold classes. There is also resources such as BWY(British Wheel of Yoga) who publish regular listings of teachers. And then there’s Viniyoga Britain who have local teacher listings etc. They shouldn’t be too hard to find. Books like Iyengar Light on Yoga and Desikachars Heart of Yoga have good references and contain not only asana details but include a more thorough oerview of all the "limbs" of yoga. Such as Yama/niyama, glossaries, sutras and so on.BTW the yoga we’re referring to is Hatha Yoga Which is all about uniting our opposite energies , sun/moon, male/female energies. Hatha is the building block used to the practice of meditation in daily life. Asanas are a fundemantal purifying practice and along with pranayama suceed in redistributing our prana(energy) and to lessen it’s dissipation outside the body. The breath is indeed a crucial factor in this practice but not the only one. Tools such as bandhas(locks held by muscular contraction) are a great aid in steadying the mind and being in the present. Asanas can even be spontaneous sometimes and a reel "upper" for the phsyce. Here is a list of some links i have gathered and peace be your journey-Justin http://www.movingintostillness.com/ from Eric Schiffmans book http://www.sivananda.org/ http://dailyreadings.com/ www.santosha.com/ this one has some good pictures of asanas http://www2.gdi.net/~mjm/sequence.html So does this http://www.rsl.ukans.edu/~pkanagar/divine/download/download.htm-downl… books and stuff http://www.parkline.ru/Library/win/URIKOVA/SANTEM/SVATMARAMA/hyp.txt Hatha Yoga Pradipika
